Hey! Guess who did actually forget about you! Me! Yay! ….Yeah so I hope you enjoyed the last few months…. Here’s my review of “1964 the tribute” As the preforemd at “The Weinburg Center for the arts” on Friday January 22.
They were awesome.
We got there about 7:30 and the started at 8:00 so there was some waiting around but, it was okay. When we where waiting in the lobby I kept on saying “I’m so glad there are this many cool people around!” and other things along those lines. We had an assigned seating and we were in the middle close to the left. The whole time we where waiting I was helping the people who sat next to me wouldn’t be an older couple who didn’t enjoy my singing and bopping around. Guess what I got. XD An Older couple who didn’t enjoy my singing and bopping around. Oh well, They didn’t say anything but I could feel the vibes. XD I wasn’t the only one to sing along to every song and bounce around in my chair there were a couple of us. Some songs like “Yellow Submarine” and “She loves you” they had everyone sing along to. and it was really awesome to hear! But I’m getting ahead of myself. So I brought my camera to take pictures during the show(don’t worry it wasn’t flash, and they never said no pictures. ;D ) I got their to find my battery on low. I also found out to take a picture that isn’t blurry with no flash you have to be perfectly still. XD I found this out AFTER I’d taken a ton of pictures and AFTER the show. But oh well! You guys can see a bunch of semi-blurry pictures!
Like last time the guys who where playing the Beatles joked around a lot. It was wonderful. At the beginning of the show Mark Benson(John) said stuff like “Having fun?” There was roar of applause. then “Not us! We’ve been doing this for 26 years and we’re sick of it!” And they had been playing for 26 years! They are in their mid-50’s! You can’t tell from far away but when you get up close to them you can see. They wear base. It hides some wrinkles. But one of my favorite little jokes was “Have you ever had the same hair cut for 26 years? Worn the same shoes? Through the whole second act we’re like ouch ouch ouch. Supposedly these Cuban heels make your bum look better. Show ‘em George.” Tom Work(George) Started to blush a little and resentfully turned to the side to show us his bum. He even lifted up his shirt a little. I got to see George’s bum.
There was lot’s of joking but I don’t remember it all.
They did a ton of awesome songs! I loved them. I think Mark(John) and Gary grimes(Paul) did the best of being a Beatle. Terry Manfredi (Ringo) did really well to but, since he was back there banging on his drums you didn’t get to see much of him. I was sad because Tom(George) Didn’t do as well as the rest. He was still really well, but he wasn’t that great.
I’m proud to say that I knew every song they played. While last year I didn’t even know the words to “I want to hold your hand” And “She loves you” This year I actually sang parts of them in German.
A couple of my friends went as well but they weren’t sitting with us. They didn’t have as good seats as us, and their whole families went. While it was just me and my mom from my family. I like it that way. Next year my sibling are coming with us, but I think we might get better seats.
After the show they were out in the lobby giving autographs, and saying hello. I bought a CD of theirs and then got in line for autographs. While I was standing there, some of the band (I couldn’t tell who) bumped into one of my friends, and they(the band) touched her! The touched hr shoulder and said sorry! I’m jealous. XD Well only a little. We waited in line for a while, not very long actually. I was literally jumping up and down and chattering(I do that a lot when I’m excited). When I got autographs the boy in front of me(about my age maybe a little bit older) Had a nose kind of like Ringo’s and slightly sad looking eyes. So Mark(John) teased him a little and asked if he was a drummer. I didn’t hear his response because I was to busy, in my mom’s word’s “Shooting love beams” at George(Tom). He could even spell my name right! Almost no one spells my name right!!!
Then he signed it with “We luv U!” In is autograph. I had to restrain myself from squealing until I got out the door Then when I got Paul’s autograph he thought I said my name was Julian. (Like John’s son not like Julie and Anne put together.) I still love him though. When John was giving me his autograph he acted all cheeky to my mom. He said “I could hear you singing it sounded good.” My mom replied with “Thanks I’ve been practicing all year.” XD I love them. Terry(Ringo) had a small head up close. Nothing interesting happened while I was getting his autograph then of course, Getting his autograph! ![]()
Did you know “1964…The Tribute” played The Cavern? A big honer or what?
The show made me wonder do these guys have families? Wives and kids? I mean they are in their mid-50’s after all. They’ve been doing this a while. I hope they’re happy either way.
On the whole seeing these guys preform was an amazing experience and Well worth waiting a whole year. I just feel bad for the people who didn’t get to see it.
